Coalition

The Center is a hub, not a rival. Partner groups keep their names, meetings, and members. We supply shared tools and joint projects that no single group could run alone.

Partners get

  • Their events on a shared Carolinas community calendar
  • Volunteers recruited through the project board
  • Celebrant referrals and a public celebrant directory
  • A free partner page on this site
  • Meeting space at the Center, once it exists

We ask for

  • Cross-promotion of our gatherings and projects
  • One representative on the Coalition Council
  • Co-hosting one service day a quarter
  • Sharing your event listings
  • Honest feedback on what the coalition should do

Partners never receive our member list. They reach our members only through our own announcements.

Who we are inviting

  • Faith-based, interfaith, and non-religious community groups, in Charlotte and across the Carolinas
  • Individual celebrants, who meet the public at weddings and memorials
  • Student and campus groups at nearby colleges and universities
  • Food banks, clinics, schools, and neighborhood associations as project partners. They do not need to share our philosophy to work on the same problem.

How it is governed

  • The Coalition Council has one representative per partner group. It is advisory and meets quarterly.
  • A steering committee of five to eight people runs the Center day to day until it incorporates. After that, an independent board majority takes over.
  • Each partnership is a one-page written agreement, so expectations are clear on both sides.

Partner groups

No partnership agreements are signed yet. Partner groups will be listed here, with their own pages, as they join.
